Jandal Camping Tours
Learn about how we roll!
We are a young and exciting New Zealand operated tour company that want people of all ages 18+ to come and experience New Zealand the way us kiwis (slang for New Zealander) see our beautiful country.
We offer a 24 day 25 night round trip of New Zealand, both the South and North Island, yes NZ has two Islands, we also offer a no frills 8 day South Island tour! You will travel in a modern 12 seater van that tows a custom trailer carrying all your gear and our camping gear, tents, gas bbq, table, chairs, stretchers (so you get a comfy sleep off the ground) everything you need for cooking.
Please check your itinerary for what meals are supplied, but some must have food stops are Sheffield pies and Ferg Burger, if you are really lucky you will get to try some local delicacies like crayfish(lobster) paua (abalone) and whitebait when it is in season we will take you to the river and watch how the locals catch these tiny wee fish. The classic NZ bbq is always on the menu.
Our tents are spacious and say they are for 4 people, but we will only jam 2 of you in each tent, plenty of room for your gear, easy as to set up, but your guide will help you, we try to stay in New Zealand owned campgrounds and DOC (department of conservation) sites. Most of the sites are close to a beach, river or lake.
Our weather is unpredictable and can go from a sunny 25 degrees plus to raining and windy in no time. New Zealand is called the ‘land of the long white cloud’ and there is a great song by crowded house called ‘four seasons in one day’, so make sure you pack a hat, but also a light jacket. Don't forget to bring your sleeping bag
But you do get the luxury of staying in hostels and cabins throughout the trip. Every campground we stay in has full amenities, with hot showers, excluding Abel Tasman which only has cold showers.
On your way around New Zealand your friendly knowledgeable guide will show you some awe inspiring places, little hidden gems, fantastic walks, stunning crystal clear springs, lots of sheep and cows, wild life is everywhere in New Zealand, don’t worry either we have no dangerous animals except for the dreaded mosquito, which can be abundant in places, but you will be given some bug spray to keep the little guys away.
We try to be as environmentally conscious as we can, recycling, making sure we leave each site better than we found it. We also support local community projects and the Department of Conservation.
So come on over and relax knowing that your holiday is fully sorted let us do the work so you can enjoy New Zealand the way you should, camping under the stars, listening to the birds and having one hell of a good time!!!
