Fox Glacier is set on the rugged West Coast of the South Island just south of Hokitika. Fox Glacier and Franz Josef Glacier are some of the most accessible Glaciers in the world. Both glaciers are currently retreating due to global warming, Fox and Franz are a hugely popular tourist destination, which has over 250,000 people pass through a year.
Fun Fact: Fox Glacier is approximately 13 km long, while Franz Josef Glacier is 12km long
