Kaikoura is a beautiful coastal township with less than 4000 residents. It is where the mountains meet the sea, it has a vast amount of both marine and bird species. This is where you will encounter whales, mainly sperm and humpback, dolphins and fur seals.
Kaikouras maori name, translates to "meal of crayfish" (kai-food, koura-crayfish)
