Our tour is a 24 day 25 night camping trip around New Zealand.

Your first night before the tour and last night after the tour is included. You stay in a 4 bed dorm at the All Stars Inn on Bealey Avenue. Check in is after 2pm. We leave the next day from your hostel at 7am, remember to have some breakfast before you leave. We will be outside waiting in our modern van with our trailer all packed and ready to put your packs into the trailer and begin our journey to Kaikoura.

Breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks are included for the whole trip, except 3 nights in the main centres where you can all go out and enjoy the local cuisine. We stay in campsites across the country including DOC campsites which are a bit more basic and more natural. We also stay in hostels, especially if the weather is bad we will upgrade you at no extra cost.

There are amazing small walks inbetween our journey so it is not all rush and bust, we can take our time to get to our next destination, if you want to stop and take a picture we can do that, the trip is all about our passengers, we want you all to have a blast.

You don’t need a huge amount of spending money as we have included activities in our trip. As well as some astounding hikes, to die for scenery and general awesome times.

Included in trip

3 hour Ferry crossing over the Cook Straight twice

Wai O Tapu (geothermal wonderland)

Maori cultural experience (hungi-food cooked traditional way)

Milford Sounds day trip with 1 ½ hour boat ride

Pick up/drop off Tongariro National Park

We are mindful of our environment, so for every person on the trip we donate $20 to the Department of Conservation, we are also committed to recycling.

Remember that your last night after our trip has ended you get to stay again at the All Stars Inn. So we do not have to rush to get everyone to the airport to catch their flights that night. Have a sleep and fly out the next day, or stay for a bit and check out Christchurch and Akaroa, we know you don’t really want to leave.

Q & A

Are there any dangerous animals?

No, NZ has only a few small native spiders, the most annoying animal we have are mosquitos, the odd mountain parrot (kea) who may steal your food. We supply you with bug spray

Do I have to do the hikes?

No, you can choose to do as little or as much as you want, you can go chill out at a lake and read a book if you prefer.

What happens if I have an allergy or food tolerance?

We will cater to your needs as best we can, let us know when you book what medical/allergies you have. Therefore your guide can be prepared before the first day.

How fit do I need to be?

It depends on what hiking you plan on participating in, most require moderate fitness but our short walks are easy.

Will I see any Lord of the rings places?

You sure will, there are a few walks that we do where LOTR was filmed.

What do I need to bring?

Sleeping bag, warm clothes, light jacket and a pillowcase, you can either stuff some clothes into it or buy a pillow when you’re here. Bring a hat if you like wearing them, and some walking shoes. Also a day bag. Don’t forget your togs.

Do I need a visa?

It all depends on where you live and how long you plan to stay. Please check www.govt.nz and please check our border security as we are strict with not letting food products in, you don’t want a fine.

Can I stay at a friends/relatives/cute strangers place?

Yes you can, just remember to tell your tour guide, make sure you are back in time for departure in morning.

I am travelling alone?

That’s great! We cater mainly for the single traveller but we love couples and groups too.

How much spending money do I need?

That whole tour can be done on a very small budget, you will need enough money for 3 nights of eating out plus your last night after the tour, otherwise everything else is catered for, but if you are a huge adrenaline junky you could spend well over $500nzd

Do I need travel insurance?

We highly recommend travel insurance while touring New Zealand with us, our go to providers are 1Cover
